New publication: The three major axes of terrestrial ecosystem function (nature)

by Deeqa Osman

A large international research team led by the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry in Jena has been able to identify three key indicators that summarize the integrative function of terrestrial ecosystems: the capacity to maximize primary productivity, the efficiency of using water, and the efficiency of using carbon. Monitoring these key indicators will provide a description of ecosystem function that determines the ability to adapt, survive, and thrive in response to climate and environmental change. Prof. Nina Buchmann is one the co-author of the article entitled "The three major axes of terrestrial ecosystem function" that was just published in Nature. Learn more about the findings in the external pagepress release of the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena or in the external pagefull article.
