New publication: The three major axes of terrestrial ecosystem function (nature)
A large international research team led by the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry in Jena has been able to identify three key indicators that summarize the integrative function of terrestrial ecosystems: the capacity to maximize primary productivity, the efficiency of using water, and the efficiency of using carbon. Monitoring these key indicators will provide a description of ecosystem function that determines the ability to adapt, survive, and thrive in response to climate and environmental change. Prof. Nina Buchmann is one the co-author of the article entitled "The three major axes of terrestrial ecosystem function" that was just published in Nature.
